As the third biggest sport in Paarl Boys' High, hockey is growing in leaps and bounds. There are 8 teams representing the school with 4 of these teams using the Stellenbosch Astro facilities twice a week. The first team participate in the presigious KES Easter Festival in Johannesburg and play against schools like Durban High School, St Albans and many other top hockey schools. The first team also participate in the York Festival in George where they play against some of the top grass teams in the Western and Eastern Cape.
All our hockey teams also travel either to Bloemfontein or East Londen by train each year to battle against either Grey College or Selbourne College. Not only does Paarl Boys' High play against schools like Bishops, SACS, Wynberg and Rondebosch during the year, the highlight of the calendar year is the match against Paarl Gymnasium during the first week of August.
As one of the top hockey schools in the Boland, Paarl Boys' High is also well represented in the Boland sides in all the age categories. In 2007, we had 2 players in the South Western Cape Team and 11 palyers in the various Boland sides.
