Although the first matches were played as early as 1908 against Wellington and "Fench Hoek", the sport could not get a foothold amongst the farm boys of Boys' High. In 1934 the game was on course and eventually turned into one of the most popular sports at Boys' High. Since then many boys have represented Western province and Boland at the provincial cricket weeks. History of Cricket at BHS - click here

Boys' High as 3 cricket fields an 9 practise nets of which two are turf nets. Boys' High is proud of its fields and our pitches have often been praised as some of the best in the Western Cape.

Boys' High has grown over the last 5 years. Currently approximately 200 boys play cricket. It makes Boys' High one of the schools with the most teams in the country. Our aim is to get matches for all our teams. Boys' High compete against top schools like Bishops, Grey PE, Wynberg, SACS and Paul Roos annually. Every second year Boys' High attends a cricket weekend at Grey PE and Woodridge Private School, where all our A sides compete against them.
